Well what can I say. I didn’t think I would make it to be honest. I started to get tired early again and eventually just had to lie down a few minutes around 22:30. But I managed to get back to being awake enough to put in some more writing, including over 1k in the final 30 minutes of the day. That’s what finally pulled me over the line to my desired 3k for the day.
And getting that 3k, for a total 65,056 means I’ve got an average of over 5k a day, and that’s heading into my three big writing days where I don’t have too many other things to do. I’ll probably slip below that number at some point during November, but for now it’s a very solid base indeed to work from. And if I do keep it up that would mean 150k for the month, which would shatter my previous best by 30k. But that’s a highly hypothetical scenario right now, I’m not even sure this story will last for 150k. Not that there isn’t enough scope for a couple of sequels if I should need them to keep going through the month…
Still anything over 50k is officially a bonus, and everything over 100k will definitely be one. In fact getting 100k would be one, but I seem to be on a roll so far this year, so who knows what might or might not be possible.
Once more, I admire the beauty of your word counts.
And I myself had a little trouble writing today as well as my eyes slipped in and out of focus all the time. I am way too tired to continue with my story even though my characters are asking me to let them go on. If it wouldn’t be for something called work…oh well, get over tomorrow and then I’ll have nine days for writing and writing alone ahead of me.
BTW, I reached my goal as well which was to beat your daily word count. I was actually a little afraid you’d pull another 5K stunt.
What are your daily goals for your long weekend?
